Use of Electronic Medical Records

Along with optimal medical services provided, Hudson-Essex Nephrology physicians use a state-of-the-art electronic medical records system (Medical Informatics Engineering) for documentation of all patient encounters at our offices. This record-keeping system enables a paperless environment and immediate access to the patients‟ records. Furthermore, the extensive use of documentation templates fosters high quality, standardized patient care, of particular importance in patients with chronic kidney disease. Written communication of crucial patient information with referring physicians is achieved promptly and effectively, and patient calls to the offices are handled without the delays associated with finding and “pulling” paper charts.
